The Freon™ MO29 energy efficiency ratio is better across the board than R-407A for low-temperature conditions. As tested on a Copeland 3DS3F45KE compressor at -25/120°F and a 65°F return gas, Freon™ MO29 is 3.71% more energy efficient than R-407A. Also, at 105°F condensing, the energy improvement is 1.62% versus R-407A.
If you are looking for a retrofit refrigerant that can be used for low, medium, and high temperatures, please consider Freon™ MO99.
Compared to R-407A, retrofitting to Freon™ MO29 or Freon™ MO99 has been proven to save $1,000–$5,000 per supermarket retrofit by avoiding the oil change to POE. In addition to the lower retrofit expense, Freon™ refrigerants can save time versus R-407A and avoid the deposits caused by the scouring effect during the multiple changes to POE oil.
