PAVING THE WAY TO DECARBONIZATION
F-gases Are Key to the Green Transition
Low GWP F-gases like HFOs are key to replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydroelectric. Our future depends on choosing innovative solutions that are developed for sustainability, not retreating to past technologies. F-gases are superior to so-called “natural” refrigerants in many ways. CO₂ systems are notoriously inefficient and complex, ammonia systems are expensive due to toxicity mitigations, and hydrocarbon systems have scalability issues due to flammability and charge size limitations. All require more resources and energy than F-gases—resulting in a higher level of indirect emissions and putting global decarbonization goals at risk.
