The Chemours Company and Honeywell today announced the extension of the pilot program they jointly launched in November 2022 to enable qualified companies to recycle and reclaim HFO blends including R-448A and R-449A—also known as Honeywell Solstice® N40 and Opteon™ XP40—in the European Union and the United Kingdom. Fluorinated gas reclaim, recycling, and end-of-life management are critical components to minimizing environmental impact and maximizing circularity globally. This extension underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing these concepts long-term.
With this extension, Chemours and Honeywell will continue to be uniquely positioned to support license qualified companies to recycle and reclaim patented fluorochemical refrigerants, ensuring safe handling of products throughout the entire life cycle.
