Geosyntec Consultants of NC, PC (Geosyntec) has prepared this Onsite Seeps LongTerm Loading Calculation Plan (“the Plan”) on behalf of The Chemours Company FC, LLC (Chemours) pursuant to the requirements of paragraph 2(c)(ii) of the Addendum to Consent Order Paragraph 12 (CO Addendum).
This report was prepared by Geosyntec Consultants of NC, P.C. (Geosyntec) for The Chemours Company FC, LLC (Chemours) as the first semiannual report for Ongoing Sampling of the concentrations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (“PFAS”) in process wastewater, non-process wastewater, and stormwater at the Chemours Fayetteville Works, North Carolina site (the Facility, Figure 1).

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are of interest because many have long persistence in the environment and widespread presence in humans and wildlife [1]. PFAS have been used in many products since the 1950s.
This document was prepared by Geosyntec Consultants of NC, P.C. (Geosyntec) for The Chemours Company FC, LLC (Chemours) to provide a framework to assess Table 3+ per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)1 in soil and groundwater in New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus, and Pender Counties (the counties) of North Carolina.
Chemours is submitting the Barrier Wall and Groundwater Extraction System 60% Design Report. This report has been prepared pursuant to Paragraph 3.b in the Addendum to Consent Order Paragraph 12 entered by the Bladen County Superior Court on October 12, 2020, which is incorporated into the terms of the Consent Order entered February 25, 2019 between Chemours and the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) with the Cape Fear River Watch (CFRW).
Paragraph 4(d) of the Addendum to Consent Order Paragraph 12 requires that Chemours complete an investigation to determine whether DuPont non-contact cooling water is causing groundwater containing PFAS to infiltrate into the outfall channel.
